Why Time Management Won't Ensure Your Productivity
It's deeper than that.
Your Life is shaped by what holds your Attention - Ajulu
Time Management won’t make you productive.
We live in a time where there are a lot of conversations and declarations about the importance of Time Management.
Content on the Internet constantly remind you of why it is important for you to manage your time and go on to list the benefits.
But like I said, that’s not the key to productivity.
And as someone that has created two guides about it and also talk about it endlessly, you might be surprised to see such statement from me.
It seems like a contradiction to all that I have been saying for years now, but before you come to challenge me though, finish this article.
There is a whole lot that goes into productivity and managing time is the least of them.
We live in a world of intense gaming, several books have been written on the Human mind from various angles and views.
The psychology of the human mind have been throughly dissected and chief among the reasons is one thing.
Discovering how to hold the human attention.
Social media companies spend all their work time discovering new ways to hold your attention.
Companies spend Billions of dollars yearly all in a bid to get your attention.
Your attention is worth a lot and it seems that everyone but you understands that.
I always tell people that Time is the greatest resource and the outcome of your life depends on how you use it.
But that’s just the surface level.
What holds your attention is what determines the level of value that you would be able to extract from your time.
Whether you are doing something worthwhile or irrelevant, time gets spent.
The reason why you always fall short of your goals and feel frustrated at the end of the day is because you only look at your unfinished tasks and the hours that have gone by without doing them.
You need to take a step back and find out the things that hold your attention, that’s when you begin the journey of really being productive.
You will always fail to be productive if all you focus on is time spent, a better option is to assess what holds your attention and evaluate if it is related to your goals.
You need to make people and projects that matter the centre of your attention and you would never waste time again.
Once you determine what you need to focus your attention on, you will not make room for procrastination.
The reason why you procrastinate is because you are trying to avoid a hard task that you know is important
After wasting time, you end up doing the task anyways.
You kill procrastination when you gain clarity of what really matters and you won’t keep running from the hard tasks and face them head on.
Gaining clarity and eliminating the things that make it easy for you to procrastinate is not as easy as it sounds.
It took me fifteen pages to be able to properly spell it out and when I was done I had created the SuperHuman Guide.
One of the principles that is contained in the SuperHuman guide is that of the four pillars.
Mind, Body, Heart and Soul.
The reason why you are not growing is because you are only trying to develop your mind, there are there other pillars that you need to make provision for that you are neglecting.
If you are just hearing about the SuperHuman Guide for the first time then you can read about it by clicking the title below.
The guide was published five days ago and over 50 people are already using it to become more productive.
I have finished reading the book and it’s super awesome, I really need to organise myself, this book came just in time as I was a bit clumsy with my daily schedules. I will even guide my boy to help him manage his time daily with school work and the side skill that he is building. This book is a masterpiece. I need to re-digest it. - Mrs Foluke Omo
Thank you Ajulu for taking out time and giving out these insights. The information contained in this book is so valuable, I am already taking action and will continue in that lane - Emmanuel Jackson
I could go on and on with the different testimonials that I have received, the guide helps you with productivity, it’s doesn’t matter if you run a business, work at a company or currently learning a skill.
